Sold Comps MCP Server

Connect your AI assistant to live eBay sold comps. Add https://www.soldcomps.io/mcp as a remote MCP server and ask what anything actually sold for: it answers with the median sold price, the middle range, the number of sales and links to the listings. Free, no API key.

Endpoint https://www.soldcomps.io/mcp · Streamable HTTP · stateless · no auth required (add Authorization: Bearer sh_live_… to use your API key's 100+ lookups instead of the free per-IP allowance)

Claude

Claude Code:

terminal
claude mcp add --transport http soldcomps https://www.soldcomps.io/mcp

Claude desktop and claude.ai: open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Sold comps and paste https://www.soldcomps.io/mcp. Leave authentication empty.

ChatGPT

In Settings → Apps & Connectors, turn on developer mode under Advanced settings, then create a connector with the URL https://www.soldcomps.io/mcp and no authentication. Enable it in a chat from the tools menu.

Cursor

Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):

mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "soldcomps": { "url": "https://www.soldcomps.io/mcp" }
  }
}

VS Code

Add to .vscode/mcp.json, or run MCP: Add Server from the command palette and choose HTTP:

.vscode/mcp.json
{
  "servers": {
    "soldcomps": { "type": "http", "url": "https://www.soldcomps.io/mcp" }
  }
}

Other clients

Windsurf and most other clients take the same URL (Windsurf calls the field serverUrl). For clients that only run local stdio servers, bridge with mcp-remote:

stdio bridge
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "soldcomps": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://www.soldcomps.io/mcp"]
    }
  }
}

MCP server FAQ

What is the Sold Comps MCP server?

A public Model Context Protocol server at https://www.soldcomps.io/mcp that gives AI assistants live eBay sold comps: the median sold price, the middle range and recent sales for any item, with links to cite. It uses Streamable HTTP and needs no sign-in or API key.

Is the MCP server free?

Yes. Lookups are free and limited to 5 per day and 20 per month per IP address, shared with the lookup on this site. The example searches (pokemon card, graphics card, rolex watch) don't count. For more, use the API: 100 free requests a month, up to 200 sales each.

Which AI apps can use it?

Any MCP client that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers, including Claude (desktop, web and Claude Code), ChatGPT connectors, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot, and Windsurf. Clients that only support local stdio servers can connect through mcp-remote.

How is this different from the SaleHistory API?

The MCP server is for AI assistants answering questions and shows up to 20 counted sales per lookup. The API is for your own code: up to 200 sales per request, filters for price range, buying format and days, and limits that grow with your plan.
