Used GPU Prices: What Graphics Cards Actually Sell For on eBay

Used GPUs on eBay recently sold for a median of about $6,300 for an RTX 5090, $3,075 for an RTX 4090 (thin sample), $1,040 for an RTX 4080, $950 for an RX 7900 XTX, $432 for an RTX 3080 and $320 for an RTX 3060 12GB (eBay US sold listings, last 90 days, Oct 23, 2026). Search the exact model and VRAM, exclude broken cards, boxes and laptop GPUs, then use the median.
Bar chart of median used GPU sold prices, from the RTX 5090 at $6,299 down to the RTX 3060 12GB at $320

Used GPU prices are easy to look up and easy to get wrong. A search for "4090" returns working cards, empty boxes, broken cards, laptops and coolers, all mixed together. The only number that matters is what a working card in the same condition actually sold for recently. Those are your sold comps.

Here's what used graphics cards sold for on eBay, and how to check any card yourself.

Used GPU prices right now

These are eBay US sold listings, last 90 days, pulled Oct 23, 2026, all in used condition, with junk sales (boxes, parts, mismatches) removed. GPU prices move, so treat this as a snapshot.

Card (used)Median soldMiddle half (25th–75th pct)Clean sales
RTX 5090$6,300$5,870 – $6,800186
RTX 4090$3,075$2,800 – $3,21519 (thin)
RTX 4080$1,040$950 – $1,150192
RX 7900 XTX$950$880 – $1,050185
RTX 3080$432$394 – $515161
RTX 3060 12GB$320$299 – $349159

A note on the RTX 4090: only 19 clean sales matched, so the median is less reliable than the others. Check the latest individual sales before you commit real money to that number.

The "middle half" is the range where half of all sales landed. It's more useful than the minimum and maximum, which is where the junk lives. Why the median and not the average: median vs average sold price.

Search the exact model and VRAM

"RTX 3060" isn't one card. The 8GB and 12GB versions are different products and sell at different prices. Same for any model sold in more than one memory size, and for Ti and Super variants. Put the full name in the search:

  • rtx 3060 12gb (not rtx 3060)
  • rtx 4080 -super if you want the original 4080 only
  • rx 7900 xtx (not 7900, which also matches the XT and GRE)

Remove the sales that aren't working cards

Before you trust any median, drop these:

  • For parts / not working. Dead or artifacting cards sell for a fraction of a working one.
  • Box only. Empty retail boxes sell surprisingly well and show up in searches.
  • Bare coolers, shrouds and backplates. Parts pulled off a card, often with the model in the title.
  • Laptop GPUs. A laptop "with RTX 4080" is a laptop, not a graphics card. Add -laptop -notebook.
  • Mining lots and bundles. "Lot of 6" or a full rig skews everything. Comp single cards.

A quick sanity check: very low minimums are a red flag. The lowest "sale" in the RTX 4090 search was $50, the lowest RTX 5090 was $80, and the lowest RTX 4080 was $90. None of those are working cards. They're boxes or broken hardware that slipped into the results.

Founders Edition vs partner cards

Nvidia's own Founders Edition and partner cards (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte and others) of the same model can sell at different prices, and premium partner models often sell above entry-level ones. If you're pricing a specific card, add the brand or "founders edition" to the search and compare it to the general model median. If the sample gets too small, fall back to the model-wide number.

Check the sale dates

GPU prices move with new launches and demand. A median from three months ago can be stale after a new generation lands or a card gets scarce. Look at when the sales happened:

  • The RTX 3060 12GB's 159 sales all landed between Oct 16 and Oct 23. That card sells fast, so the data is very current.
  • The RTX 4090's 19 sales are spread from late August to Oct 22. Slower, older and thinner.

If the last two weeks look different from the full window, trust the recent sales. More on reading trends in eBay price history.

Buy It Now sets the price for used GPUs

Most used GPU sales here were fixed price, not auctions:

CardBuy It Now salesAuction sales
RTX 509015432
RTX 408015834
RX 7900 XTX16520
RTX 308014615
RTX 3060 12GB14613

With so few auctions, the Buy It Now median is effectively the market price. For how auction and fixed-price results differ in general, see eBay auction vs Buy It Now sold prices.

Buy low, list near the median

Use the spread, not just the middle number:

  • Buying to flip: aim for the 25th percentile or below. For a used RTX 4080 that's around $950. Pay more and there's little room for fees and shipping.
  • Selling: list near the median. A used RTX 3080 at around $430 is in line with what buyers are paying; listing at $515 puts you at the top of the range, where cards sit longer.
  • Listing a clean, boxed, or premium card: the 75th percentile is a fair ask, if the photos and description back it up.

Checking GPU prices in bulk

Running these searches by hand for a shelf of cards gets old fast. Try any card free in the sold comps lookup, or pull the same numbers through the sold comps API:

curl "https://api.soldcomps.io/v1/sold?q=rtx+4080&condition=used" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SALEHISTORY_KEY"
# → { "count": 192, "stats": { "median": 1040.00, "p25": 950.00, "p75": 1150.00, ... } }

One request is one search and returns up to 200 sold listings. If you price GPUs regularly, a scheduled search per model keeps your sold comps current; see reseller pricing for how that fits a flipping workflow.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a used RTX 4090 worth?

Used RTX 4090s sold for a median of about $3,075 on eBay US over the last 90 days, with the middle half between $2,800 and $3,213. That's from only 19 clean sales, so check the latest sold listings before you buy or list.

Where can I check used GPU prices?

eBay sold listings show what buyers actually paid. Search the exact model and VRAM, filter to used and sold items, remove broken cards, boxes and bundles, and take the median of recent sales.

Why do some sold GPU listings show $50 or $80 for a high-end card?

Those are almost never working cards. They're usually empty boxes, for-parts cards, bare coolers or backplates that matched the search. Exclude them before you take a median.

Should I buy a used GPU at auction or Buy It Now?

Most used GPU sales on eBay are Buy It Now, so that's where the market price is set. Auctions are fewer and can close above or below it. Aim to pay near the 25th percentile of recent sales either way.
