How to read your sold comps
- Median sold is the middle sale. It's the number to price from, not the highest sale. Why the median.
- Middle half is where the central 50% of sales landed. Buy so you profit at the low end; list near the median.
- Excluded sales are lots, broken or for-parts items, extreme prices and Best Offers whose real price eBay hides. They're shown faded so you can check them.
- Be specific. “game boy color atomic purple” beats “game boy”. Add the model, size or edition.

What are sold comps?
Sold comps (sold comparables) are recent sales of the same item, used to price what you buy or sell. They come from completed sales, not asking prices, so they show what buyers actually paid.
How do I check sold comps for free?
Type the item into the search on this page. You'll see recent eBay sold comps with their sold prices, plus the median and middle range, without signing in to eBay. On eBay itself you need to be signed in and tick Sold items under Filters.
How far back do these sold comps go?
The last 90 days of sales, which is about how far eBay's own sold search goes. Results are refreshed daily.
Why is the median different from the average?
The median is the middle sale, so a few bundles, broken units or typos can't drag it around. We also leave lots, for-parts sales, outliers and Best Offers with hidden prices out of the median.
Can I pull sold comps for many items at once?
Yes, with the API: one request per item returns the same numbers as JSON, so you can price a whole spreadsheet or inventory. The free plan includes 100 requests a month.
